Police Officer Thornell Little is a 24-year veteran of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and is currently a School Resource Officer.  In 2023, his wife Sara began having some medical concerns and after meeting with doctors was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Officer Little and Sara were devastated by this news as they were trying to add to their family.  Not only was Sara diagnosed with breast cancer, but she was also pregnant with a baby boy.  Sara's courage and inspiration gave Officer Little hope that they would get through it together.  Despite the cancer diagnosis, Sara gave birth to their beautiful baby boy, Malakai in September of 2023.

After baby Malakai was born, Sara began chemotherapy again.  While undergoing chemo, Sara still remained strong enough to support her family, never complaining about what she was going through.  She has since had a double mastectomy and is nearing the end of her treatments.  The diagnosis caused Sara to have to take a leave of absence from work, and the medical bills started coming due.  Officer Little and Sara have accumulated over $106,000 in medical bills after insurance.  The increase in medical bills has placed a financial strain on their family.  Despite being humble, they are at a point where they need help.  The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Fraternal Order of Police Foundation has started this page to collect donations for the Little family.  All proceeds will go directly to assisting the family with medical expenses.

We know there are community members always asking how they can help - this is how!  Please help this family any way you can.  No amount is too small.  Our Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) and your donation may be tax deductible.

Thank you!
